In our school in Bristol, we offer courses of General English and Examination Preparation courses. All our courses include a minimum of 28 lessons per week (21 hours) + daily homework. There are lessons every morning and on four afternoons a week. You are tested on your progress every Friday and interviewed by your class teacher at the end of your first week, and then every two weeks to make sure that your individual needs are being met.

During the mornings you will study General English. A typical day at school starts with essential work on grammar and provides practice in the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. There is regular pronunciation work in class and in the language laboratory. Each class follows a recently published course book which your teacher will supplement with his/her own materials and adapt to the individual needs of the class.

In the afternoons you have the opportunity to concentrate on examination preparation and you are able to pursue your own English language interests and requirements through the electives programme.

There are 6 levels from Elementary to Advanced, with several classes at each level. On the first day, we test you so that we can place you in a class at the right level. Our classes have a maximum size of 12 students. The average number of students per class is 10. The class size in some afternoon electives can occasionally reach 14. As a part of your course you can prepare for the Cambridge exams, IELTS and London Chamber of Commerce (English for Business 2nd level). Study materials are also available for TOEFL, TOEIC and BEC.

All our programs include:

  • Conversation club ( 2 hours a week)
  • Personal Study programme with 4 hours’ supervised self study.
  • Higher level students can choose from a range of electives on two afternoons a week, including Business English and British life and Culture.

Activities

Our teachers organize for their students a busy social programme, because we believe that it is important to practice English outside classes and to enjoy learning it! Every week of the year there is a social programme including sports, Friday film club, two evening activities and also an excursion on Saturday. You shouldn’t forget also that Bristol is famous for its night life and you will be able to meet a lot of English people.
