Host Family Accommodation
Most students stay with local host families. Families are carefully chosen and regularly checked to ensure a high standard of welcome for and compatibility with our students whether young teenagers or professional men and women. Students are normally placed with families living from 10 to 30 minutes from the school. Our host families are asked to write to their student guests before they arrive and meet them at the bus or train station on arrival in Bath. Our student accommodation and welfare co-ordinator is always available to talk to students or their host families.
Normally you are expected to arrive on the Sunday before your course begins and leave on the Saturday after the course finishes.
Standard host families
The family will provide you with breakfast and evening meal during the week and will include a light lunch at the weekend. You will have your own bedroom but share the family bathroom. The family will provide bed linen and will take care of a reasonable amount of personal laundry. There may be one or two other students staying in the family at the same time but none of the same nationality.
Your hosts could be, for example, two parents and their children; a young couple without children; mature couples whose children have left home; single women who may be unmarried, divorced or widowed and who live alone or with their children. If you have a specific request about the make-up of your host family please let us know before you come and we will try to meet your requirements.
*Students aged 12 and 13 years old will only be accepted as part of a group. They will be accommodated in a twin room with a fellow student from their group.

For those who prefer more independence there is a choice of self-catering apartments, budget to 4-star hotels, guest house and bed and breakfast accommodation all available at a range of prices.

Residential Accommodation
International House Bath is pleased to advise you that throughout the summer, we are able to offer city centre self-catering accommodation at extremely reasonable prices.
The accommodation is offered in University of Bath student residence, Carpenter House, five minutes' walk from the school, and only two minutes from the bus and railway stations. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and light, with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The residence is a modern purpose-built building, and offer shared bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen with dining area for each six or seven bedrooms.
Launderette facilities are available on site, and there are two supermarkets a short walk away.
